Semiotic Labs is an AI venture studio incubating secure-by-default agentic infrastructure, born from six years of R&D in high-stakes decentralized markets. Founded in 2020 by experts in artificial intelligence and cryptography, we were building for agents before most of the industry knew agents would need infrastructure.

As a core developer of The Graph, we build systems for an environment where participants are economically incentivized to cheat and there is no central authority to appeal to. That standard shapes everything we ship.
Research with receipts
Our work has been backed by more than $700,000 in federal funding from the National Science Foundation and DARPA, and by The Graph Foundation's $60 million core-developer grant. The results run in production today.
A venture studio, by results
Research becomes product, and product becomes company. Odos and Cambrian both grew out of this lab and both operate in production. Agentium OS, our governed runtime for enterprise agents, is the current incubation.
The three layers
Autonomous agents need identity, so counterparties know who is acting. They need payments, so value can move at machine speed. And they need trust, so anyone can decide whether to do business with them. Every project we take on strengthens one of those layers.
